Mrs. Donna Lee (Ours) Wratchford, 57, of Waynesboro, Pa. and formerly of Petersburg, died Dec. 31, in Waynesboro. Born June 24, 1947, in Cabins, she was the daughter of Gertie (Crider) Ours of Petersburg and the late Homer Ours. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Marie (Ours) Sears Fortner. Mrs. Irene (Stonestreet) Sams, 92, of Parkersburg, died Jan. 6, at her residence. Born Sept. 25, 1912, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Myrtle (Bible) Stonestreet. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Sams, whom she married Dec. 28, 1935, and who died in 1991; three brothers, Lester Stonestreet, Eston Stonestreet and Glenn Stonestreet; and four sisters, Artie Turner, Zola Dixon, Dorothy Miles and Rosalie Karitis. Mrs. Sams was a homemaker. She was a member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church for 66 years, and was active in the Altar Guild and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by one son, Robert E. Sams, M.D., of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, R. Douglas "Doug" Nesselrodt, 50, of Franklin, died Jan. 23, at his residence. Born Dec. 29, 1954, at Harrisonburg, Va., he was the son of Bobby L. Nesselrodt and Thelma (Samples) Nesselrodt of Franklin. Mr. Nesselrodt was owner and operator of Valley Electric in Franklin from 1974-1976. He worked for Design Electric in Harrisonburg, Va., and later for Virginia Power as an instrument and control technician. He was a sheep and poultry farmer, operating South Branch Poultry. He also owned and operated Liberty Mountain Wood Products and South Branch Transport. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Christina (Chadock) Nesselrodt, whom he married July 4, 1975; two sons, Matt Nesselrodt of Franklin and Kenny Nesselrodt of Blacksburg, Va.; and paternal grandmother, Evelyn Nesselrodt of Franklin. Mrs. Barbara A. (Haines) Landis, of Maysville, died Feb. 26. Barb was a loving daughter to her mom, Juanita B. (Hartley) Haines for 57 years. She was preceded in death by her Dad, Jacob Williard Haines and her stepdad, "Pappy" Claude E. Haines. Barb was the loving wife of the Rev. Stephen B. Landis for the past 38 years. One of favorite roles was "Mommy" to Stephen (37), Lori (34), Mark (33), and P.J. (31). Later, she became "Mimi" to Bryce (15), Shayna (13), Brooke (13), Brett (11), Rebecca (7), Blake (6), Molly (3), twins Grant and Wesley (19 months) and Shelby (9 months). There was a private burial at the family homestead, Beulah Land Farm, on March 3. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service, March 5, at Springfield Assembly of God Church, Springfield. Mrs. Elva Arbell (Sites) Kesner Borror, 92, of Dorcas, died Feb. 20, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg. Born May 23, 1912, in Dorcas, she was the daughter of the late Harvey D. Sites and Elizabeth (Crites) Sites. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Loy H. Kesner in 1945; one infant son, Eston William Kesner; one infant daughter, Ilene Ruth Kesner; five brothers, Marvin Sites, Orville Sites, infant John Sites and infant twins; three sisters, Hazel Barr and infants Molly and Mary Sites; one infant grandson, Brian Douglas Heavener; and one infant granddaughter, Melinda Lou See. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Borror; four sons, Herman L. Kesner of Moorefield, Jesse Lee Kesner of Dorcas, and twins Robert M. Borror of Baltimore, and Richard L. Borror of Front Royal, Va.; four daughters, Viola C. McGinley of Kendallville, Ind., Bonnie L. Schilling of Manassas, Va., and twins N. Darlene Rohrbaugh of Gettysburg, Pa., and E. Mark Wesley Swick, 44, of Waldorf, Md., died Feb. 26, at his residence, after a long battle with brain cancer. John Byron Hawse, 84, of Petersburg, died March 31, at the Grant County Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born in Baker, West Virginia, May 27, 1920, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Dora Mae (Funkhouser) Hawse. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Anna Lee (Rexrode) Hawse; and three siblings. Loy William Kimble Sr., 55, of Petersburg and formerly of Upper Tract, died March 29, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va. Stephen Lee Stickler, 70, of Toms Brook, Va., died June 11, at The Home, Woodstock, Va. Born Aug. 19, 1934, in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Charles Lester and Wilda (Snell) Stickler. Mr. Stickler was a member of Toms Brook United Methodist Church, the Maur-Brook-Olive Ruritan Club, Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403, Windsor Masonic Lodge, Lebanon-St. Stephens Community Choir and former choir director at Toms Brook United Methodist Church. He was an administrator and band director in the Isle of Wight, Va. and Grant County public school systems and Strasburg Middle School, retiring after 32 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Kile) Stickler; one son, Mark Stephen Stickler of Berkeley Springs; one daughter, Leta Stickler of Toms Brook; one brother, George A. Mrs. Gail Virginia (Landes) Parker, 69, of Arthur, died June 8, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg. Born Aug. 9, 1935, in Corner, she was the daughter of the late Albert Landes and Cora (Alt) Landes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Parker, July 16, 2002; three brothers, Edgar Landes, Harman Landes and Herbert Landes; and three sisters, Marie (Landes) VanMeter, Goldie (Landes) Taylor and Pearl (Landes) Judy. She was the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by one son, Theron W. "Terry" Parker of Arthur; one daughter, Cherie L. Parker of Vienna, Va.; two grandsons, Justin Wayne Parker and Dylan Christopher Parker; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rebecca Ellen "Becky" Humphrey, 53, of Martinsburg and formerly of Petersburg, died June 13, at her home. Born Nov. 9, 1951, at Kilsythe, she was the daughter of the late Dennis O. and Charlotte M. (Rice) Cochran. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 34 years, Jim Humphrey; her daughter, Denise Reiff and husband, Danny, of Martinsburg; her son, Jeremy Humphrey of Martinsburg; one brother, Tom Cochran and wife, Missy, of Aurora, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Kayla Reiff and Brady Reiff, both of Martinsburg, and Jax Humphrey and Conner Humphrey, both of Cross Lanes. Robert Lee Van Meter, 71, of Maysville, died June 11, at his residence. Born Aug. 27, 1933, in Maysville, he was the son of the late Jeff VanMeter and Dorothy (Moyers) VanMeter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Oleda (Hawk) VanMeter in 1991; and three brothers, Clarence VanMeter, Leroy VanMeter and Glenn VanMeter. He is survived by two daughters, Carol Heavner of Lahmansville and Dorothy Hawk of Maysville; one stepdaughter, Eleanor Jean Walker of Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Ruby Moyers of Meyersdale, Pa., Hazel Nelson of Woodstock, Va., and Charlotte Ann Jenkins of Winchester, Va.; and five grandchildren, Brian and Derek Hawk, Jaclyn Heavner and Camilla and Michael Lee Walker. Funeral services were June 14, at the Lighthouse Community Church, Arthur, with interment in Maysville Cemetery, Maysville. She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Henry; a son, Jimmie Henry, Arthur ; two daughters, Dawn Crites, Moorefield and Teresa Donaldson, Petersburg; two brothers, Bruce Crites, Critestown and Wayne Crites, Maysville; six sisters, Juanita Baker, Moorefield, Joan Simmons,, Arthur, Margaret Dayton, Lahmansville, Phyllis Taylor, Purgitsville, LeAnna Hamilton, Winchester, Va. and Jean Crites, Manassas, Va.; and six grandchildren. Mrs. Cora Lee Delawder, 89, of Petersburg, died June 15, at the home of her daughter, Linda Adamson of Maysville. Born May 4, 1916, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Elijah "Pat" Zirk and Margaret (Lewis) Zirk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Delawder in 1968; two sisters, Virginia Zirk and Elizabeth Weatherholtz; one brother, Noah Zirk; and one infant grandson, Brian Christopher Akers. She is survived by four sons, Thomas Delawder of Washington, Pa., Raymond Delawder and Jerry Delawder, both of Petersburg, and Joe Delawder of New Orleans, La.; six daughters, Nancy Hogbin, Patricia Nesselrodte, Sue Iman and Janet Berg, all of Petersburg, Margie Mallow of Stafford, Va., and Linda Adamson; one sister, Grace Weatherholtz of Lahmansville; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Galen Franklin Duling, 90, died June 18, at the Sunnyside Retirement Community, Harrisonburg, Va. Born Feb. 10, 1915, in Gormania, he was the son of the late Hershel Grover Duling of Mount Storm and Frances Virginia (Kerlin) Duling of Nokesville, Va. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Marie Duling; three sisters, Anna (Duling) Reall, Kathleen (Duling) Lyle and Geraldine (Duling) Ferguson; and one brother, Clyde Duling. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florena (Evans) Duling; two sons, John Duling and wife, Jackie, of Harrisonburg, and Grover Duling and wife, Diana, of Scherr; one sister, Betty (Duling) Moore of Bonnie Lake, Wash.; one brother, William G. Bean. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray. H. Smith, Oct. 14, 1981; one son, Robert A. Smith, Dec. 14, 1984; one grandson, Randolph "Randy" Smith, Jan. 7, 1979; three sisters, Mamie Burch, Della Orndorff and Ola Bradfield; and four brothers, infant Howard Bean, Ray Bean, Clyde Bean and Marvin Bean. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ramon Harvey; one nephew, Ramon Junior Harvey; and one aunt, Ruby Culp. He is survived by two sons, Robert E. Harvey and wife, Melissa, Mount Storm and Shawn W. Harvey and wife, Julie, Webster Springs; his companion of 23 years, Kathie S. (Laraway) Lindsey and her sons, Rob Lindsey and wife, Linda, Deep Creek Lake, Md. and Mike Lindsey and his wife, Sarah, Harper's Ferry; one brother, Greg Gay and wife, Patty, Seaford, Del.; one sister-in-law, Mary Harvey, Bel Air, Md.; one uncle, Lester Culp, Mountain Lake Park, Md.; and four grandchildren, Christina Harvey, Webster Springs, Kayla Harvey, Mount Storm, Megan Lindsey, Deep Creek Lake, Md. and McKenzie Lindsey, Harper's Ferry. At his request, his body was cremated. A memorial service was conducted June 27, at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mount Storm.
