Rose Ann McCabe, 88, of Davis, died Aug. 30, at her home.

Born May 11, 1918, in Jordan Run, she was the daughter of the late Andrew C. and Nora M. Rohrbaugh. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and one grandson.

She is survived by six children, Connie Andreason of Loveland, Colo., Mary Quattro of Camden, N.C., John Bjornvick of Middleburg, Fla., James Bjornvick of Savannah, Ga., Loraine Fairchild of Davis, and Rosemary McCabe of San Antonio; one sister, Betty Sponaugle of Davis; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 2, at Twin City Fellowship Church, Thomas. Interment was in Teter Cemetery.

C. Joe Moyers, 56, of Petersburg, died Aug. 21, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg.

Born April 17, 1950, in Harrisonburg, Va., he was the son of the late John F. Moyers and Dora (Judy) Moyers. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Phares.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judy E. (Barr) Moyers; one sister, Shirley S. VanMeter of Cabins; seven brothers, Roger Lee Moyers of Moorefield, Alfred V. Moyers of Dorcas, Gary B. Moyers of Effort, Pa., Vivan Alt, Luther Alt and Glenn Alt, all of Petersburg, and Mike Phares of Maysville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Aug. 23, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg Interment was in the Riggleman Cemetery, Cabins.

Homer Edward Didawick, 53, of Levels, died Sept. 5, at his residence.

Born Oct. 11, 1952, in Mount Storm, he was the son of Joseph Didawick of Levels and the late Nellie Gray Didawick. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Stephen Didawick.

Besides his father, he is also survived by his stepmother, Linda Didawick; six sisters, Brenda Smith of Moorefield, Lisa Gray of Levels, Kelly Cowgill, JoAnn Haslacker and Kim Haslacker, all of Points, and Mert Dean of Romney; and two brothers, Pete Didawick of Points and Joey Didawick of Levels.

Funeral services were Sept. 8, at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mount Storm, with the Rev. John Walker officiating. Interment was in the Cosner Cemetery.

Douglas William Pennington, 49, of Scherr, died Sept. 2, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.

Born Feb. 4, 1957 in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Maurice Pennington Jr. and Mary Etta (McGuinness) Pennington of Scherr.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Logan P. Pennington and Benjamin M. Pennington.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Weatherholtz) Pennington of Scherr; one brother, David Pennington of Scherr; and four sisters, Debra Smith of Fisher, Donna Feaster of Maysville, Diana Duling of Scherr and Denise Pendergast of Cumberland.

Funeral services were Sept. 7, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg. Interment was in the Weatherholtz family cemetery, Lahmansville.

Logan Patrick Pennington, 26, of Scherr, died Sept. 2, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson.

Born Aug. 21, 1980, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Rebecca (Weatherholtz) Pennington of Scherr and the late Douglas W. Pennington. His father and his brother, Benjamin M. Pennington, also died Sept. 2.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Maurice Pennington Jr. and Mary Etta (McGuinness) Pennington of Scherr; his maternal grandmother, Grace (Zirk) Weatherholtz of Lahmansville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Benjamin Mark Pennington, 24, of Scherr, died Sept. 2, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.

Born June 25, 1982, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Rebecca (Weatherholtz) Pennington of Scherr and the late Douglas W. Pennington. His father and his brother, Logan P. Pennington, also died Sept. 2.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his girlfriend, Tiffany Ardisson, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; paternal grandparents, Maurice Pennington Jr. and Mary Etta (McGuinness) Pennington of Scherr; his maternal grandmother, Grace (Zirk) Weatherholtz of Lahmansville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Josie Dolly Trumbo, 93, of Franklin, died Aug. 30, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va.

Born Aug. 22, 1913, in Onego, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Polly (Ritchie) Dolly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Cleveland

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Bates of Vienna, Va. and "Jo" Josephine Jordan of Fairfax, Va.; two grandchildren, George Bates and Glenda Bates; and several great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 4, at the Franklin Presbyterian Church. Interment was at the Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield.

Dorothy Ann Labanich, 63, of Upper Tract, died Aug. 30, at her residence.

Born Sept. 19, 1942, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Stanley Frank and Anna Dziekowski. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Joey and Frankie Dziekowski and one sister, Jeanette Nina Laboy.

She is survived by three daughters, Andora "Ann" Hamilton of Riverton, Michelle Georgette Vandevander of Dewey, Ill. and Elizabeth Susan Sheyka of Bayville, N.J.; one son, Michael Labanich of Farmingdale, N.J.; three sisters, Teresa Quinn of Ashville Pa., Frances Galarza and Carol Heinold, both of Florida; and three granddaughters.

Services were Sept. 3, at the Basagic Funeral Home chapel, Franklin, with the Rev. Mario R. Claro officiating. Interment was in the North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton. (9-12)

Celesta A. Sites, 88, died Aug. 15, at Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester, Ind.

She married Virgil Sites April 2, 1939 and he died March 21, 1996.

She was the youngest of five children born to Peter G. and Mary (Cummingham) Roberts, October 29, 1917. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. A son survives her, Paul (Kay) Sites of 173 EMS B27, Pierceton, Ind., a daughter, Deloris (Jim) Johnke, Winnett, Mont., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Donna Kuhn attended her services at Aug. 20 at Timbercrest Chapel. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Wabash County, Ind.

Mrs. Goldie Frances (Keplinger) Reel, 73, of Petersburg, died Sept. 16, at her residence.

Born Dec. 22, 1932, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Leon Keplinger and Mary (Ayers) Keplinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David V. Reel, Oct. 8, 1999; two grandchildren, infant Candice Reel and Bryan Reel; two sisters, infant Annabelle Keplinger and Eula Mae Borror; and two brothers, Paul C. Keplinger and Earl J. Keplinger.

She is survived by two daughters, Delphia M. Ashby and Judy A. Reel, both of Petersburg; nine sons, Paul W. Keplinger of Arthur, Larry J. Keplinger of Columbus, Ga., Roger L. Keplinger, James A Reel, Gary "Pop" Reel and Eddie R. Reel, all of Petersburg, Vernon A. Reel of Cabins, David E. Reel of Maysville and Randy B. Reel of Westminster, Md.; three sisters, Rosalie Bell, Virgie Kile and Linda Crites, all of Petersburg; one brother, Jesse E. Keplinger of Cusseta, Ga.; one halfbrother, Warney R. Ayers of Petersburg; 12 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 18, at Rig Assembly of God Church, with interment in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens.

Melvin VanMeter Jr., 71, of Franklin, died Sept. 13, at Rough Run Rd., Mozer, as the result of an accident.

Born May 31, 1935, in Maysville, he was the son of the late Claude and Angie (Davis) VanMeter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Adah (Beyers) VanMeter April 5; and one grandchild.

He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn C. Heavner of Moorefield and Phyllis Marie Heavner of Maysville; five sons, Paul S. VanMeter, Dale W. VanMeter and Shawn VanMeter, all of Maysville, Dennis E. VanMeter of Antioch and Michael VanMeter of Caldwell, Ohio; three brothers, David VanMeter of Maysville, William VanMeter of Burlington and Everett VanMeter of Petersburg; one stepson, Wayne Kimble of Franklin; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 16, at the Basagic Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment was in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Upper Tract.

Mrs. Arlena Rebecca Sites, 72, of Quicksburg, Va., died Sept. 12, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va.

Born Dec. 31, 1933, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl M. and Ada Rea (Mauzy) Thorne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leearl Edgar Sites Sr., April 16, 1987. They were married Jan. 16, 1949.

She is survived by five daughters, Blenda Will, Karen Sue Waldron, Sherry Lynn Woods and Lorri Ann Williams, all of Quicksburg, and Penny Marshall of Mount Jackson, Va.; two sons, Leearl Edgar Sites Jr. of Quicksburg and Timothy Lee Sites of Broadway, Va.; one brother, Justin Thorne of Moorefield; three sisters, Juanita Brady of Petersburg, Sylvia Sites of Dorcas and Betty Barbe of Old Fields; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 15, at Brake Church of the Brethren, Petersburg. Interment was in North Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Petersburg.

Mrs. Rosemary P. Leaseburg Wilson, 86, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Morgantown and Scherr, died Monday, Sept. 11, in Bradenton, following an extended illness.

Born May 18, 1920, in Philippi, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Doyle and Rose Marie (Baughman) Phillips. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Joe E. Leaseburg Sr. and Lawrence Wilson.

She is survived by one son, Joe E. Leaseburg Jr. of Niles, Mich.; one daughter, Libby Manus of Pompano, Fla.; one stepson, Greg Wilson of Boalsburg, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Connie Meisner of Attica, N.Y.; three step-sisters, Frances Stiles of Florida, Sarah Childs of Maryland and Alice Hovey of Belington; five grandchildren, Sam "Pokey" Weiss and Joe Wiess, both of Morgantown, Marcia Payne of San Antonio, Jessica McCauley of Bruceton Mills, Jason Leaseburg of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Wright, Jack, Cora and Rachel McCauley, Jordan Weiss, Liz and Ana Leaseburg; stepgrand and great-grandchildren, Scott and Todd Meisner and their families, all of New York, Tiffany and Dane Wilson, both of Boalsburg.

Services were Sept. 16, at the Cross Roads United Methodist Church, Tacy, with interment in the Cross Roads Cemetery.

Order of the Eastern Star conducted a service Sept. 15, at the Stemple and Forman Funeral Home chapel, Philippi.

Mrs. Lois Evelyn Miller Marshall, 74, of Fairmont, died Sept. 18, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.

Born March 22, 1932, in Centerville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Marie (Good) Miller. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Robert Miller; and two sisters, Charlotte Jordan and Margaret Vance.

She is survived by her husband, W. Glenn Marshall; one son, Charles G. Marshall and his wife Mendy of Poca; two daughters, Marcia Turner and her husband Greg of Sterling, Va. and Sonya Jones and her husband Carl of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Cameron Turner and Lindsay Turner, both of Sterling, Lucas Marshall of Poca and Chance Turner of Sterling; one brother, Gene Miller and his wife Eloise of New Lebanon, Ohio; one stepbrother, Ray Miller and his wife Marilyn of Ohio; a brother-in-law, Robert Vance of Tipp City, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul Lawrence Hedrick, 64, of Franklin, died Sept. 17, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins.

Born May 12, 1942, at Ruddle, he was the son of the late Oliver Hedrick and Florence (Lawrence) Hedrick. He was also preceded in death by one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Simmons) Hedrick, whom he married on January 10, 1972; two daughters, Kathy Walters of Petersburg and Vicky Mauzy of Franklin; two sons, Douglas Hedrick of Petersburg and Oliver Hedrick of Brandywine; five sisters, Frances Halterman, Shirley Thompson, Ruby Crown, Loveain Warner and Sarah Smith, all of Franklin; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were Sept. 20, at the Kimble Funeral Home chapel, Franklin. Interment was in Ruddle Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Franklin.

Mrs. Reva Jo Sypolt, 52, of Kingwood, died Sept. 30, at Preston Memorial Hospital, Kingwood.

Born Feb. 14, 1954, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Elsie (Berg) Carr. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Carr.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Donald Sypolt; one son, Billy Harris-Sypolt of Kingwood; three daughters, Melody Sypolt and Stephanie Sypolt, both of Kingwood, and Peggie Paulus of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three brothers, Harvey Carr of Petersburg, June Carr of Lahmansville and Leonard Carr of Maysville; one sister, Hilda Phares of Petersburg; one grandson, Xavier James Paulus of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Oct. 4, at the Browning Funeral Home, Kingwood. Interment was in the Sypolt Cemetery.

Joshua Blake "Josh" Kimble, 16, of Moorefield, died Sept. 29, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born Nov. 13, 1989, in Petersburg, he was the son of Carol Stump of Moorefield, Virgil Crites of Fisher and Roy Welton of Moorefield.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Loretta Kimble of Moorefield; one half sister, Teisha Welton of Petersburg; maternal grandparents, Johnny and Arlene Stump of Moorefield; paternal grandparents, Virgil and Grace Crites of Petersburg; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services Oct. 3, at Moorefield Church of the Brethren. Interment was in Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield.

Connie Blackford Graham, 88, of Lahmansville, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg.

Born July 25, 1918, in Deerfield, Va., he was the son of the late Isaac and Rose (Nelson) Graham. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lucille (Groves) Graham; one son, Donald Graham and wife Annalee of Fort Ashby; one daughter, Patricia Turner of Destin, Fla.; three grandsons, Gregory Graham of Middletown, Del., Kevin Graham of Lahmansville and Randy Graham of San Francisco, Calif.; one sister, Daisy Stevens of Deerfield; four great-grandchildren; and special friend and nurse, Ellen Kirby of Petersburg.

Funeral services were Sept. 30, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg. Interment was in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville. Military graveside rites were accorded by VFW Post 6454 and JROTC of Petersburg.

Junior Harper, 72, of Arthur, died Sept. 25, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Born May 16, 1934, in Onego, he was the son of the late Mervin Harper and Alta (Bennett) Harper. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Erma (Lewis) Harper, in 1994; three brothers, Blake Harper, Kermit Harper and Dale Harper; and one sister, Macel Evans.

Surviving are four sons, Rocky Harper and Terry Harper both of Baltimore, Randall Harper of Westminister, Md., and Rodney Harper of Arthur; one daughter, Teresa Burkett of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Scott Randal Harper and Ryan Blake Harper; two stepsons, James Layton and Phillip Layton, both of Baltimore; one sister, Norma Helmick of Winchester; and one brother, Doan Harper of Harrisonburg, Va.

Mrs. Hilda M. Hanlin, 78, of Leesburg, Ind., died Sept. 23, at her home.

Born Jan. 1, 1928, in Emmitsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Hardman) Stouter. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Delbert Hanlin; one son, Earle "Kelly" Hanlin of Leesburg; one daughter, Carol Hanlin of Leesburg; three sisters, Ruth Wisotzkey of Georgia, Margie (Frank) Valentine and Anna Haley, both of Maryland; one brother, Charlie Stouter of Maryland; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sept. 26, at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Mount Storm, with interment in Locust Grove Cemetery, Mount Storm.

Kennie C. Kimble, 92, of Upper Tract, died Oct. 8, at his home.

Born Dec. 18, 1913, in Smoke Hole, he was the son of the late Vincent and Della Susan (Kimble) Kimble. He was also preceded in death by one son, Carroll Keith Kimble; one daughter, Frances Ann Shira; an aunt that raised him, Nettie Kimble; two brothers, William and Olie Kimble; two sisters, Rosie Kisamore and Violet Harman; three half sisters, Goldie Alt, Hadie Belle and Wilda Kimble; and two half brothers, Golden and Mervin Kimble.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Rebecca (Kimble) Kimble; one son; Clyde Junior Kimble of Sunnyvale, Texas; three daughters, Treva Margaret Smith of St. Leonard, Md., Judy Fae Laurie of Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Debra Kay Heinhorst of Henrico, N.C.; two half sisters, Alice Ketterman of Maysville and Zola Swick of Petersburg; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Oct. 11, at Upper Tract United Methodist Church, Upper Tract. Interment was in the Cherry Hill Cemetery, Upper Tract.

Mrs. Bessie Lee Koontz, 99, of Moorefield, died Oct. 7, at the E. A. Hawse Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Baker.

Born Sept. 25, 1907, in Grant County, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (O'Brien) George. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Koontz, January 1988; two sons, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, three sisters and one brother.

She is survived by three sons, Oscar George of Harpers Ferry, Malin Koontz of Petersburg, and William Koontz of Moorefield; two daughters Dora Wratchford and Bonnie Hartman both of Moorefield; one brother, Erza George of Headsville; one sister, Retha George of Elkins; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 10, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, Moorefield. Interment was in the Scott Cemetery, Durgon.

Evelyn Elizabeth (Simmons) Kimble, 90, of Pansy, died Oct. 14, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg.

Born March 13, 1916, in Pansy, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Myrtle E. (Alt) Simmons. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Elvern "Bob" Simmons.

She is survived by one brother, O.J. Simmons of Melbourne, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Oct. 17, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg. Interment was in the Thorne Family Cemetery, Rough Run.

Della Viola Dean, 66, of Seneca Rocks, died Oct. 12, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.

Born Oct. 30, 1939, in Hampshire County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Orie (Dawson) Dean. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Dean and an infant daughter, Carla Dean. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by four daughters, Vickie Shook of Petersburg, Robin Christina Green of York Springs, Pa., Rebecca A. Hedrick of Seneca Rocks and Eugenia Lynn Dean of Winchester, Va.; four sons, Donald Ray Dean of Romney, Pete Dean of Shanks, Robert William Walker of Lost River and David Dean of Delaware; 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 14, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg. Interment was in the St. Luke Cemetery, River Road, Romney.

He is survived by his wife, Ina Jane (Kesner) Alt; three sisters, Audrey Blosser of Richmond, Va., Vada Evick of Franklin and Martha Evans of Bulls Gap, Tenn.; three brothers, William S. Alt and Roger L. Alt both of Petersburg and Kermit Alt of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles Eugene Kessel, 56, of Petersburg, died Oct. 16, from a recent complication due to pneumonia .

Born March 20, 1950, at the old clinic in Petersburg, W.Va., he was the son of Blondell Kessel and Delia VanMeter Kessel. Later he became big brother to Judy and Rick.

Charles' marriage to Pansy Haines gave him a daughter, Tonya. A second marriage to Louise Sions gave him a son, Tommy. He was saddened by his father's death, but became good friends with his stepdad, Jim Folk.

Services were conducted Oct. 19, by Maysville, Petersburg, Mount Storm, Upper Tract and Moorefield volunteer fire companies and the Maysville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg. William Eston "Bussie" Gilmore, 81, of Petersburg, died Oct. 16, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Born March 1, 1925 in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Asbury and Nora (Washington) Gilmore. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Evers S. "Snub" Gilmore and Richard "Dut" Gilmore; and four sisters, Blanche Redman, Thelma Taylor, Mary Redman and Margaret Herbert.

He is survived by one sister, Mabel Gilmore of Elmira, N.Y.; one brother, Olie Page "Biz" Gilmore of Elkins; one nephew, James E. Gilmore of Piedmont; and four nieces, Jacqueline Robinson of Staunton, Va., Paula Jocelyn and Sue Ellen Ashley both of Washington, D.C. and Everetta Wheeler of Piedmont.

He is survived by one son, Robert Nelson of Roundup, Mont.; four sisters, Mary, Ruth, Betty and Maxine; one brother, Jim Nelson; and two grandchildren.

Daughter of the late Dr. James Hanson Wolverton Sr., and Ruth (Grant) Wolverton, she was born April 21, 1915, in Balmorhea, Texas.

Her husband of 53 years, Judge David Earle Cuppett Jr., died June 18, 1990. An infant daughter, Cornelia Cresap Cuppett, preceded her parents in death on June 28, 1941.

Mrs. Cuppett's four siblings are deceased: Dr. James H. Wolverton Jr., Kathryn W. Carvey, Harriet W. Hackney, and Dr. William Roger Wolverton Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth C. and husband John A. Buchanan, Chalk Hill, Pa., and a son, David E. Cuppett III and wife Karen, Canaan Valley, W.Va.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsie M. Born Dec. 18, 1920, at Streby, she was the daughter of the late Peter Christian Arbogast and Stella S. (Turner) Arbogast.

She married Merle Dean Lawrence Sr., Aug. 21, 1937, in Oakland, Md. and he preceded her in death, Dec. 11, 1990. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by two sons, Capt. Gerald S. Lawrence Sr. of Elkins and Capt. Merle "Dean" Lawrence Jr. of Beverly; one sister; and five grandchildren, Gerald Jr., Rene, Amy, Beth and Erik; and eight great-grandchildren.

Born Oct. 8, 1919, in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Propst and Mahulda (Propst) Propst. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil H. Rexrode, whom she married April 19, 1945; one son, Stephen Dale Rexrode of Petersburg; two brothers, Irvin S. Propst of Brandywine and Richard Propst of Harrisonburg, Va.; two grandchildren, Amy Berg of Petersburg and Robert Rexrode of Davis; two stepgrandchildren, Michael Meek of New Creek and Cynthia Hartman of Petersburg; two great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Born May 30, 1940, in Shaw, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Katie E. (Nelson) Helmick. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kay F. (Duckworth) Helmick in 2005; two sisters, Frances Kitzmiller and Mary Haupt; and two brothers, Charles Helmick and Calvin Helmick.

He is survived by two sons, William "Billy Jo" Helmick Jr. of SW Warren, Ohio and Ronald J. Helmick of Gormania; two stepdaughters, Joyce Pennington of Mount Storm and Yvonne Boyland of Florida; one sister, Shirley Kent of Gormania; one brother, Bruce Helmick of Gormania; and one grandson, Tylor Helmick of Ashtabula, Ohio.

Born March 31, 1937, in Maysville, he was the son of the late Claude H. VanMeter and Angie Kathleen (Davis) VanMeter. He was also preceded in death by one son, Donald R. VanMeter; two infant sisters; and six brothers: Melvin VanMeter and five infant brothers.

Mrs. Gaynelle C. Dahmer, 80, of Lewisburg, died Dec. 19, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born Nov. 6, 1926, at Gap Mills, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Rossie (Wickline) Crosier. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister.

A native of Grant County, Mrs. Dahmer was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church and was a retired school teacher with Wetzel and Grant County schools.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Dahmer; two daughters, Sue Gayle Ritz and husband Terry of Leesburg, Va. and Marilyn Sargent of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Alma Campbell and Irma Curran, both of Lewisburg; and two grandchildren, Gayle Prince and Amy Ritz.

Born Sept. 18, 1918, in Grant County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Vance and Virginia (Crites) Vance. On Nov. 17, 1938, she married Glenn R. Thorne who preceded her in death on March 4, 2001. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Thomas Vance, Wilbert "Web" Vance, Jacob "Jake" Vance, John Vance, James Vance, Walter "Bill" Vance, Fred Vance and an infant brother; and five sisters, Grace Sites, Ethel Hines, Ruth Whetzel, Elsie Sites and an infant sister.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenna Judy and husband Bob of Petersburg and Debbie Heare and husband, Royce of Dorcas; two sisters, Goldie Huffman of Petersburg and Lena Thorne of Dorcas; one brother, Glen "Hart" Vance of Dorcas; four grandchildren, Richard E. Judy of Petersburg, Stephanie Y. Greenwalt, Felicity A. Ours and Todd A. Heare, all of Dorcas; and six great-grandchildren, Richard E. Judy II, Caleb L. Judy, Lucas G. Greenwalt, Chantz T. Born Sept. 28, 1950, in Moyers, he was the son of the late Collie Roosevelt Moats and Margaret Josephine (Scott) Moats. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Harrison Moats.

Born Nov. 7, 1928, in Job, he was the son of the late Harry and Ann (Teter) Bennett. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold "Rocky" Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Lee (Roy) Bennett, whom he married May 27, 1950; three sons, Jack Bennett of Seneca Rocks, Herbert "Chuck" Bennett of Harman and Mark Bennett of Burlington; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
