Miss Gae Marie Huffman, 86, of Franklin, died Friday, May 2, at Pendleton Manor, Franklin. Born May 21, 1921, at Dry Fork, she was the daughter of the late Blosser Johnson Huffman and Rada (Raines) Huffman. she was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Miss Huffman was a homemaker and a member of the Franklin Assembly of God Church. She is survived by one son, Roger Holloway of Franklin; three brothers, Marshall Huffman and Richard Huffman, both of Franklin and Herbert Huffman of Arthur; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchidren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday morning at the Franklin Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Calvin Bailey officating. Interment was in the Bland Cemetery, North Mountain. Mrs. Margaret Dean Phillips, 97, of Petersburg died, Sunday, May 4, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg. Born Aug. 8, 1910, in Tucker County she was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin "Doc" and Mary Ella Bertha (Hendrickson) Burley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Phillips, Nov. 14, 1999; one son, Allen Phillips; three brothers; and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by one son, Harry Dean Phillips and wife, Dorothy, of Martinsburg; two daughters, Ruth P. Wilson and husband, Bill of Magnolia, Texas and Nan P. Kesner and husband, Buddy, of Petersburg; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be May 18, at 3 p.m. at the Main Street United Methodist Church, Petersburg, with the Rev. William Haynes Jr. officiating and also will be a service conducted by the Petersburg Chapter 146 Order of the Eastern Star. Ms. Evelyn JoAnn Snyder, 74, of Fisher, died Saturday, May 3, at the Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg. Born May 26, 1933, in Moorefield, she was the daughter of the late Alfred U. and Myrtle (Vance) Hedrick. She was also preceded in death by one son, Kevin; one sister, Betty and one infant brother. Surviving are two sons, Earl Snyder of Petersburg and Mark Snyder of Moorefield; four daughters, Stacy Simmons of Petersburg, Stephanie Vance of Fisher, Tina Conners of Moorefield and Amy Shockey of Fisher; two sisters, Juanita H. Harbaugh of Clearwater, Fla. Joyce H. Hardy of Moorefield; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be today (Tuesday), at 11 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Temple, Rig, with Pastors Charles Snyder, Michael Snyder and Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Mrs. Ruth Elaine (Harman) Thomas, 86, of Essex, Md., and formerly of Maysville, died Thursday, May 1, at Franklin Square Hospital, Essex. Born Nov. 6, 1921, near Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth "Betty" (Bland) Harman. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, infant Tressy Harman, Mayselle (Harman) Zopfi, Chloe (Harman) Smith, Edith (Harman) Killen and Nellie (Harman) Thorn; five brothers, Charles Harman, Thomas Harman, Garland Harman, Theodore "Budge" Harman and Newton Harman. She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Thomas; one son, Theodore Mitchell Thomas; four daughters, Susan Thomas, Nancy Hickman, Charlene Rothen and Mary Hannon; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three sisters, Pauline Hall of Baltimore, Clemence Courtney of Pawtucket, R.I. and Claudia Hope George of Maysville; and one brother, Lynn Harman of Maysville. Mrs. Arvella "Jackie" (Kimble) Cobb, 78, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, April 23, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. Born March 11, 1930, in Smoke Hole, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Zadie (Kisamore) Kimble. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Virgil, Eston, Alvie and Ison Kimble; and three sisters, Dolly Kile, Evelyn Huffman and Emily May. Douglas Trenton Idleman, 54, of Maysville, died Tuesday, April 22, at his home, after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehig's Disease. Born April 16, 1954, in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Harold "Johnny" Idleman and Helen (Cosner) Idleman. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Velma (Schartiger) Coler and Frank Edward Coler. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna (Coler) Idleman, whom he married on July 11, 1974; two brothers, John "Toby" Idleman and wife Mary of Petersburg and Bradley Idleman and family of Chester, Va.; nieces and nephews, John "Tim" Idleman and wife Shelley and children, Briana and Christopher, Tamara (Idleman) Shirk and husband Gary and children, Nicholas and Amber, and Krista (Idleman) Bolyard and husband Travis and children, Tyler, Cody and Logan; special brother by love, Greg Willis and wife Darlene and children, Garrett and Nathan; and special caregivers, Chester and Virginia Shadrick. Burlie F. Alt, 90, of Fort Ashby, died Saturday, April 19. Born Feb. 14, 1918, in Petersburg, he was the son of the late William M. and Ida C. Alt. Ron Keplinger, 52, of Keyser, died Sunday, April 6, at the Braddock Campus of the WMHS, Cumberland, Md. Born Jan. 2, 1956, at Pittsburgh, he was the son of Lorraine P. (Lark) Keplinger of Keyser and the late Paul A. Keplinger. He also was preceded in death by an infant twin brother and one grandson, Josh Swick. Sally Gail Watts, 91, of Cabins, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg, W. Va. She was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Cabins and was the daughter of the late Marshall S. Ours and Emily (Smith) Ours. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Watts, in 1952; two sons, infant, Frederick Mark Watts and Marlin Lee Watts Sr., in 2000; an infant grandson, Timothy Brian Watts; five brothers, Alonzo Ours, Earl Ours, Robert Ours, Clyde Ours and Bruce Ours; and four sisters, Lula B. Goldizen, infants Lillian and Bessie Ours and Elizabeth Brooks. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by three sons, the Rev. Born Sept. 27, 1914, on Orr's Mountain, near Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Roy Gipson and Mary Susan (Simmons) Riggleman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Arwood Weatherholtz, on March 6, 1981, whom she married Oct. 21, 1935, in Cumberland, Md.; one great-grandson; two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by one son, Donald A. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Millard Hedrick in 1941; her second husband, David G. "Betty" (Kimble) White; two sons, Jerry Wade White II of Short Gap, and Olie Wade White of Bowden; two daughters, Debra Cerra of Piedmont and Patty Rice of Keyser; two stepchildren, Angie Thompson of New Creek and Eric Rhodes of Moorefield; two brothers, Kenneth White of Mount Storm and Douglas White of Burlington; two sisters, Lois Walsh of Piedmont and Jo Haney of Florida; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday morning at the Smith Funeral Home chapel, Keyser, with the Rev. James "Sonny" Dodds officiating. Interment was in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
