During their fi nal meeting of 2025, the Grant County Commission heard an update from Sherry Mongold, the director of the Seneca Rocks Regional Development Authority. The primary reason for the appointment was the annual review of the West Virginia Local Economic Development (LED) grant, which funds the SRRDA. The Seneca Rocks Regional Development Authority is the joint development authority between Pendleton and Grant counties. In this role, the authority is tasked with promoting, developing and advancing the business prosperity and economic welfare of both counties. The SRRDA combined and replaced the individual county’s authorities after its creation.

Earlier this month, a stolen vehicle incident that started in Hardy County made its way onto the roadways of Grant County ending in a crash and arrest. On Dec. 11, an offi cer with the West Virginia State Police received information about a stolen truck from Hardy County being spotted in Grant County. The offi cer begin to travel towards South Mill Creek Road, following other units responding to the call. The caller told dispatch that the vehicle had pulled onto Crites Village Road and was possibly heading towards Elk Horn Road.

A Pendleton County man, charged in a 2023 overdose death of Miranda Henderson is set to return to circuit court early next year. A pretrial conference has been scheduled in the case of Adam Gregory Keller. Keller, 32, faces several felony charges. These include murder, delivery of a controlled substance resulting in death, and delivery of a controlled substance as a repeat offense. Court records state the alleged offense happened around December 2, 2023.
