Lester Kenneth Wratchford, 71, of Cabins, died Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Grant Rehabilation and Care Center in Petersburg.  

Born Aug. 17, 1948, in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Carl Gilbert Wratchford and Mary Jo Catherine (Southerly) Wratchford.  On March 24, 1969 he married his wife of 50 years, Shirley Ann Wratchford, who preceded him in death on June 21. He was also preceded in death by: one brother, Donnie Wratchford; two sisters, Irene Ketterman and infant sister, Lucile Wratchford.

Mr. Wratchford attended school in Petersburg. He worked with his brother, Donnie Wratchford as a painter. 

He is survived by: two daughters, Leslie Wratchford of Cabins, and Melissa Parks of Gerrardstown; two stepsons, Vince Giacalone and Albert Giacalone, both of Fort Meyers, Fla.; three sisters, Shirley Ketterman of Petersburg, Delphia Cullers of Moorefield and Phyllis Warner of Capon Bridge; five brothers, Ernie Wratchford, Calvin Wratchford and Larry Wratchford, all of Petersburg, Elvin “Hooch” Wratchford and Steve Wratchford, both of Moorefield; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Per Mr. Wratchford’s request his body will be cremated. A celebration of life ceremony was Saturday morning at the Basagic Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg with the Rev. Larry Hakes officiating.
