WVTE announces its spring musical, “Disney’s Newsies!” a Tony award-winning Broadway show, featuring a score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein.
Shows are at the Landes Art Center in the Harr Theatre in Petersburg on March 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. and March 8 and 15 at 2 p.m.

West Virginia Trappers Association annual Spring Fur Auction March 6-8, at the Gilmer County Recreation Center, 1365 Sycamore Run Road, Glenville. Vendors will be present throughout the weekend. Consignment for fi nished fur, roots, deer horns, etc., begins at 9 a.m. on Friday. The third exhibit of paintings by local artist Bruce Schrader, is open to the public now at the Moomau Library, 18 Mt. View Street, in Petersburg. These pictures, in the Library’s main and meeting rooms, depict scenes in Grant, Hardy and Pendleton counties, of buildings, rivers, rock formations, and nature scenes. This exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours. For information call 304-257- 4891.

The Petersburg Church Women United and the Grant County Ministerial Association will sponsor the annual Lenten Luncheons on each Wednesday during Lent in the Fellowship Hall of the Petersburg Presbyterian Church at 20 North Main Street.
Each lunch will feature a menu of soup, sandwich, and dessert which will be served promptly at noon.
A local pastor will present a brief Lenten message, and the event will end at 12:30. The cost is $5 and everyone is welcome to attend.
