again be t r a n sformed into a cozy Hallmark
scene as the Chamber of Commerce prepares to host its annual Hometown Christmas Celebration. Scheduled for
December 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., this event is a combined effort between community partners, including the City
of Petersburg, the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), and several local organizations such as the Lions Club.

The Petersburg City Council and Grant County Commission
are working to preserve Peters burg City Park as a safe, family-friendly space for the entire
community to enjoy. However, the ongoing issue of vandalism has become an urgent
concern, prompting officials to adopt a “no tolerance” policy as they continue to invest in upgrades to the park’s facilities.

At its latest meeting, the Grant County Board of Education heard updates from Superintendent Mitch Webster on
facilities needs, policy reviews, and staffing adjustments. Webster outlined pressing issues at Petersburg High School,
noting outdated infrastructure in parts of the building.

Ribbon cutting held for new Outpatient Physical Therapy Department

The driver of a Potomac Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) bus reported witnessing a domestic battery incident onboard the vehicle on Wednesday September 3. The driver stated the incident occurred in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven store on Virginia Avenue in Petersburg.
